Ivan & The Parazol
In 2010, a group of young musicians formed a band in Budapest, and over the years they became one of the most prominent bands in the Hungarian modern rock scene. From the very beginning, Ivan & The Parazol’s goal has been to create a production that knows no national borders, where the only compromises are those made among themselves, one that showcases how rock ’n’ roll is played today, and through which they can create their own, ever-expanding musical playground.
Nothing proves that they’ve achieved this better than the countless concerts they’ve played, both past and future, at the biggest clubs and festivals on the national and international scene, whether it’s Budapest Park, Sziget Festival, Electric Castle, Zwarte Cross, or even the Osaka World Expo, spanning continents.
Their debut album, Mama Don’t You Recognize Ivan & The Parazol?, released in 2012, was selected by Telex as one of the 100 most important Hungarian albums, and shortly thereafter they were honored with an MTV EMA award. With their song Breeze, they became the first Hungarian band to have a track debut on BBC Radio 1.
In addition, their latest album and single, Belle Époque and Dorodango, also won a Fonogram award, so we can safely say that not only the public but also the music industry is falling head over heels for Ivan & The Parazol.
